first visit
We’re so glad you’ve chosen LeVos Dentistry as your dental partner. We look forward to working together with you to create and maintain a better, more personalized picture of oral – and overall – health.
YOUR FIRST VISIT
During the initial visit, we will review your medical and dental history, take x-rays, and evaluate your teeth and gums for signs of tooth decay, gingivitis, or cavities. Sometimes the first visit will also include a cleaning, or sometimes a cleaning is done at a follow-up visit. Don’t worry, we’ll figure all of that out with you when you schedule the appointment. Typically, first appointments last one hour, but if you have more complex needs, we may set aside 90 minutes for you. You’ll talk with our patient care coordinator on the phone to go over your main concerns and needs, so you’ll know exactly what to expect at your appointment.
Risk assessment is a very important part of the first visit. By identifying dental and health risks that are specific to you, we can work together to prevent the development and progression of dental problems.
After a thorough evaluation, Dr. LeVos will talk with you about risk assessment and treatment options, both in the short-term and in the long-term. When it comes to treatment plans, every patient is different and there are many options for you. We’ll spend time talking about your various choices going forward, so that you can feel comfortable and confident in whatever it is that you decide is best for you.

ABOUT OUR OFFICE
It’s important to us that you feel comfortable from the moment you step inside our door. You’ll find that our staff is friendly, our waiting room is quiet and relaxing, and our treatment rooms include comfy chairs. If you’d like to listen to music, feel free to bring your own headphones or let us know if you’d like to use ours. If you need a pillow, blanket, or anything else to keep you comfortable, just ask.
PATIENT ANXIETY
Here’s the truth. Plenty of people get a little (or a lot) anxious when they visit the dentist. We get it, and don’t worry, we don’t take it personally. If you really, really wish you were anywhere but at the dental office with us, we hope you’ll tell us so. When you share your concerns and fears before we get started on your dental treatment, we can make every extra effort to ease your nerves throughout the appointment. We think that you’ll discover that appointments with us are more relaxed and comfortable than your past dental experiences.
Whether your visit is simply a checkup or a more extensive dental treatment, we will do our best to make your experience in our office a comfortable, rewarding one. We want you to leave here with a big smile on your face.
